Prim Farmhouse Country Lamps
in Country Home Decor
You can take these country lamps home to the city if you want! They're just darling anywhere!
'Round here most of us just take our old lamps and give them a new shade. Or we'll paint the base and it feels like new. Sometimes country folk will splurge and grab something new to us at the second hand shop.

But, sooner or later, we all want lighting that is wonderfully new. Something classic and simple. Something that is durable enough for raising children and stylish enough to last us into our old age.
Trends in Country Decorating Lamps
The pineapple is a hot trend, but it also stands in culture for prosperity and welcome. The cabana reminds me of summer window shutters. And cattails are definitely an ode to country summers!
You can't be boring! Because when we're ready to buy a new lamp or two for the homestead we need something really nice, kinda fun, a little snazzy.
No one wants to own what their next door neighbors own or whatever is on sale at the Home Depot! Certainly not when you can find better deals on more unique items elsewhere!
Okay I know the Home Depot is a handy place to shop with decent deals, but yuck! Everyone around you has the exact same lamp that was on sale when they last re-decorated!
So tell me, does the mass marketed Home Depot product line include this bull rushes lamp with a snazzy blanket-stitched shade? Or for that matter will you find any of these country lamps in your neighbor's home? Not likely.
I don't think I need to talk pricing and construction with you. If you use the source I recommend I think you'll find that most of their lamps are reasonably priced and easily affordable.

That's just one of the reasons I started shopping online. I was really tired of seeing the same old products sold and displayed in my friends houses with no apparent personality displayed.
You'll find on this page, some really neat lamps I found on what is now one of my favorite sites for friends and decorating clients.
These twig lamps and the glass chicken above are very artistic pieces, reasonable in price, but perhaps more whimsy than the average farmhouse can live up to. I don't know, I bought the chicken anyway. It has a nice soft night-light glow to it.

Where did I get these pictures? I borrowed them off my favorite lighting website when I was trying to decide what to buy.
The hardest part about visiting that website is that you can't stop browsing once you've started. There's so much to choose from, and you'll see plenty of country lighting fixtures and lamps that you'll want for your friends as well.
My word of advice, use buttons on the site to pare down your viewing selection - that way it is really fast to find exactly what you want!
Click Lamps, then
choose your style (my preferred is the Dick Idol and the designer collections), many of the products are on sale, clearance and/or free shipping. You'll love it.
Artisan Birch Table Lamp

Country White Birch Lamp with Nest and Choice of Shade
Won't this lamp look absolutely charming in your cottage, cabin, or country chic home? People who have bought them have reported back that their visitors rave about these.
To be honest, it is word of mouth is what has sold more of these lamps than we can keep up with. See testimonials from past customers by clicking here.
Hand created by local Canadian Artist. Primitive electric table lamp, using standard household bulb. A useful accent in your decor and a conversation piece to boot!
The nest is made of grapevine. Inside are wood eggs (although everyone thinks they are real), that are painted beige with realistic brown, black and tan spackles, moss, feathers and twigs.

We used to ship these with a shade, but found that shipping (calculated in bulk not weight) was tremendously expensive! And the shades we kept in stock weren't always to our customer's liking. Your lamp will be shipped to you without a shade - choose your own to match your decor at a local retailer.
Approximate measurements - height 28" with a standard shade. Nest width 3". Each lamp is unique in sizing and shape, all sit level and stand straight.
