I am a stay at home mom and a crafter. I go to crafts show and do very well at them. I want to be able to sell from home on the computer and have my own website and really get my crafts out there. I am just not sure how to get started. Everyone tell me that I need a store but being a at home mom the money is not there to do that and my house is not big enough to open a shop. I would love to find some grants that would help me get a start and get my business up and running. Please Help!!! Where should I start. I can make the crafts and do the work. I’m just not good at knowing where to start. Any help would be great. Thanks, Pam

Could someone email me with ideas?

Hi Laura. I,m getting up in years and want to do my own thing in upstate n.y. I am a very hard worker and I,ve tried to think of every job under the sun. I,m not afraid to use my back but would rather use my brain. It,s just my wife and I and now I would rather spend time together than getting frustrated at some job you have to take what you get. Not what your worth. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob Craig

My strong point is typing, and I want to work from home. I have been scammed already by the “stuffing envelopes” scam, and now I don’t know where to begin for fear of being scammed again. Are there legitimate typist from home positions? And where do I go to find these positions? Is it true that if a company asks you to send money to start making money it is not legitimate? Thank you

My wife and I are very interested in moving to a small town. We currently live in Houston where I make about 100k per year. We would not need to earn that much in a small town, but we do need an income stream and we have no idea where to start.

My wife spent about ten years as a single foster mom, caring for kids with medical needs. We adopted five of these kids (current ages 5 through 13). She has extensive medical knowledge. She is a city girl but insists she is ready for the rural life, which she has come to know a little through me.

I grew up in a small town (population 1000) in Texas. The closest “city” was 90 miles away and had a population of 150,000. I am currently employed as a financial analyst for a large corporation. I have extensive experience working with business plans, budgets, forecasts, financial statements and the lending process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there Laura Childs: I am a retired policeman (RCMP), sperated and worked many jobs since I retired 13 years ago. My career was throughout Ontario and found Nova Scotia a good place to live. I have a very good broad based life and work skills to offer. I am finding that some jobs are becoming to stressful to keep up with. I don’t need to make a lot of more money over my pesion, but can supplement that. I do need some work to keep me occupied. I also have a place in the country, and would rather not have to communte in the summer back and forth to Halifax every day. I have looked at a great deal of offers out there, and am aware of the scams and reluctant to invest money or my time without knowing how these programs work. I am searching for advised on reviews and found yours. I am motivated and will make the effort to make working at home a priority for me. Some thing that I can spend anywhere from a couple of hours a day to 8 hours if I like the work. I am looking for consulting on just what I need to know about online work. I would like to hear more from you, please. Dave Muldoon

    Hi Laura,

My name is Marlene Lemons. I am working on a nonprofit organzation as well as trying to come up with an at home business to work from home. My problem is I am very low on funds right now. I have written two books and working on the third. I have just purchased a website with domain name but it hasn’t been created yet. I have been given the opportunity to pay for my second book to be marketed on one of the largest book exhibits but I do not have the finances. Any suggestions on how to get my business started. I am currently at home for a couple of days. While I am off I wanted to try to get my business started so I can earn some money to help me quit my job and work from home full time. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Laura, I’m interested in your Goat Book. I live in the country and work in the city. I’ve always loved goats and I live on 2 acres of land. I was thinking of getting a few goats and starting up my own website. Your articles are interesting and informative. Can I purchase a hard copy of your book? or is it just offered online? I’m also interested in setting up a website for my goats. So any help regarding these would be most appreciated! Thanks!

    Hello Laura,

I am starting a small farm, so far I have pygmy goats, turkeys and chickens. I have made a contact to raise free range turkeys and was told that if I raise them they will give me my first 300 customers who only want free range birds (organic). I also have a desire to do eggs, I have white, brown and chocolate eggs to sell as well as for each season there is wild onions which I pick clean and sell, then I do the seasonal fruits and sell my perserves and also grow tomatoes, okra etc. All good sellers at the Farmers Markets.

I want to learn how to make cheese curds from the goats milk as well as learning how do sell my products on the internet so any ideas will help.

I am very internet literate just don’t know how to do a webpage. I’ve fallen victim to the online scams in the past.

I beleive in organically grown foods there are way too many chemicals and grown hormones introduced to the public causing all kinds of ailments. This as well as I’m approching 50 and want the simple life on the farm. My husband is currently in Afganistan 33 years Army and we need something to keep up busy when he comes home in October.

    Thank You.

I want to begin by saying that I like Marlon’s teachings also. I have purchased a few of his products.

I have a website that is about 5 months old that is used to provide free websites and 3 months free hosting to people trying to start out on the Internet and do not have or want to lay out a lot of cash. I charge $25.20 for the domain and setup and that is the total until the 3 month hosting is up. After that, if they choose to stay, they must find a host or we will continue to host for a comparative rate.

Anyway, my problem is two fold. Traffic and conversions. I have ran PPC for about 700 clicks with 1 conversion. OUCH! It is a competitive market and hard to rank highly in fair volume keyword phrases. If you would, please look at my site and see if anything strikes you. Like Paul Meyers says “give it to me straight up”. I would very much appreciate your input.
